Binance will be the the official sponsor of The Weekend’s ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ tour.
This will be the first global concert that integrates web 3.0 technology. The tour is set to begin on July 8th and is meant to promote his fourth studio album After Hours (2020) and his fifth studio album Dawn FM (2022). The concert will kick off in the USA and Canada.
For this concert, Binance will partner with HXOUSE, a next-generation incubator that fosters innovation and opportunity for creative entrepreneurs. HXOUSE will help to develop an exclusive NFT collection for the tour. In addition, it will create branded tour merchandise. Concert-goers will receive virtual ticket stubs that will be redeemed for commemorative NFTs. The Weekend has embraced the NFTs market since 2021, and this event will simply be his latest dive into the market.
Donation to XO Humanitarian Fund
As part of the partnership, Binance will donate $2 million to XO Humanitarian Fund, a project that was started by The Weekend earlier this year. The fund is meant to support the efforts of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). Binance and The Weekend are also set to collaborate on more NFTs, and 5% of the sales will be donated to XO Humanitarian Fund.
The Weekend’s Ventures in Crypto and NFTs
The Weekend first entered the NFT market in April 2021, when he dropped a limited-edition collection on Nifty Gateway. This project raised more than $2 million. It was known as The Acephalous Collection and featured a total of eight pieces, three of which were audio-visual works that worked as open collections. Four static pieces were offered as silent auctions and raffle drawings, and the final one included an unreleased song by the Weekend. The unreleased song sold for over $490,000 in an auction.
In October 2021, The Weekend joined Tom Brady’s NFT platform, Autograph. He now serves as a member of the company’s board. The Weekend would later release his own Ethereum NFTs through the platform. These seven NFT pieces were auctioned via OpenSea. Six of these featured footage from the Blinding Lights music video, and the final one showed The Weekend on the cover of Billboard.

The exchange was created in 2017 and is currently registered in the Cayman Islands. Although the company has been very successful, it has had to deal with regulatory challenges in various countries, including the USA and the UK. Most of the regulatory issues dealt with tax offences and money laundering. It also had to relocate its main offices from China following the CCP’s crackdown on cryptocurrencies.
In addition to offering a crypto exchange service, Binance has a special crypto wallet where its customers can store their electronic funds.
