In only 42 days, the gates to Crypto Gibraltar Festival 2022 opens – and 1000’s of people will meet for networking and debates about everything from the latest DLT regulation to what is happening in the Metaverse.
The Crypto Gibraltar Festival 2022 takes place between the 22nd and 24th September and will host the first live stream Metaverse DJ on the Friday party in Decentraland. The DJ of the evening will be Hipworth from Melbourne, the founder of DJenerates, combining amazing electronic music with a world class NFT collection.
Pete Burgess, the organiser of the summers best crypto festival in Europe says: “Gibraltar’s foundation as a financial jurisdiction is regulation – often seen as old world – but Gibraltar is also an enabler and hotbed of cutting edge innovation, particularly in the payments sector“.
Crypto Lists Limited can report that Gibraltar established the first DTL regulation framework, which been attracting many of UK’s and the worlds leading crypto firms such as Bits and LMAX Digital, along with a huge DeFi community. Peter says that “many crypto purists will say that the DTL regulatory framework encourages centralisation – the very opposite of the original crypto philosophy“. Still, this is what can create engaging debates at Gibraltar´s crypto festival this summer.
The festival this year will attract more than 1000 crypto enthusiasts and will be hosted in the “Crypto Village”, a few minutes from Gibraltar Airport. Since many flights from mainland Europe and the US don’t fly to Gibraltar airport, Crypto Lists gives a few alternatives how to get into the Gibraltar trouble free by car, boat or airplane. Crypto Gibraltar will host up to 700 people in the exhibition area, in connection with an NFT gallery and network lounge.
Mainly networking
“The main reason people attend crypto conferences is to connect. Many people go to conferences without attending any seminars,” says Burgess. After all, Crypto Gibraltar is mainly a networking event and is structured to facilitate that. Peter says that “there are two and a half-days of serious conference discussions, but we also have a purpose-built networking lounge and create enough time periods during the day to make productive use of it”.

Every evening is also full of events and fun times for the delegates. Last year, the Friday introduction party was held in a cave inside a rock of Gibraltar, with a unique sound show replicating how the rock was formed. In September 2022, there are going to be lots of different themes that brings together people from all over the world – while being connected with the Metaverse at the same time.
A captivating Metaverse experience
“We’re going to create an captivating metaverse experience where we will stream DJs performing in a metaverse club but into the real world”, Burgess says. Crypto Gibraltar Festival is working with DJenerates – a popular NFT collection celebrating club music and featuring world class DJs & artists from the TOP 100 DJ list. Who are we going to see – David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren or Steve Aoki perhaps? At least Hipworth is going to play the final number live. He is the founder of DJenerates who also is a famous NFT artist.
The crypto evening experience will allow visitors to experience both the real world and the Metaverse at the same time, with musicians on the screen and access to the Metaverse via mobile. Those attending can obviously interact with people in the metaverse, but also see them in the real world and connect with them. “We think this will be a world first”, Burgess concludes.
