Yesterday, PayPal told the world that Americans can buy their own stablecoin with the short name PYUSD. It's launched by Paxos Trust Company LLC that was founded in 2015. Apart from Paypal USD (PYUSD), they also have Paxos Gold (PAXG) that is a popular hedge against inflation and linked to the price of gold. Finally, Binance USD (BUSD) and their own Pax Dollar (USDP) are two other stablecoins from Paxos Trust Company. What's a bit disappointing with Paypal USD is the very low usage outside of Paypal. Almost 24 hours after the launch, there are only 8 holders outside Paypal. Perhaps Paxos should actually have shown the contract address when they sent out press releases, so people could easily find it?
